There are many types of archetypes throught mythology of all cultures that Trickster, the Temptress, the Destroyer, and the Hero. The Transgressor arachetype’s nature was to push the set laws and rules in order to gain knowledge to benefit others and himself, but would end up doing more harm than good. Some early examples of the transgressor in mythology are Promethous; who gave forbiden fire from the gods to mortals against the gods wishes, but was able to alow others to learn from his misdoings, and Sisyphus; who tried to give make mortals imortal by blocking their path to hades, but was also punished. Exampls pf modern day transgressors are Frankinstien, who tried to reanamate the dead, but failed and ended up creating a monster. Transgressor are not evil, but are seen as evil for their acedints. The Trickster archetype’s nature is to sneak and decive using wit and skill to get out of his problems. An early example of a trickster is Hermes, the messenger of the gods, who stole Appalo’s heards on his first night of birth, and when Apallo came to acuse Hermes, he stated that he was only a day old and couldn’t of stolen his heard. Some moddern day Tricksters that apear in movies and in books are Hon Solo, who makes a living from stealing and swindeling; Bugs Bunny, who uses his wits to outsmart his toon counterparts. The Temptress archetype is as exactly as her name says, she tempts men into suduction, but she unintentualy does this; she represents love, beauty, lust, and is irrisistable. An example of her in anciant mythology is Aphrodite, a goddes so beautiful that Zeus had to force her to marry Haphestus so that the other male gods wouldn’t fight each other for her hand in marriage. Many femalle models and movie stars are temptresses who attract all men all over the world. The Destroyer archetype is the ultimat evil of characters and destroys just for the sake of destroying. The prime example of this is Hades form mythology who is so evil that not even the other gods accoate with him, and when mortals are forced to woriship him, they beat the ground in fear. Modern destroyers are Dearth Vader and Dracula, who seek nothing but power and total control and will kill or destroy anything or anyone who gets in their way. The Hero archetype is the ultimate good of characters with the will to help, protect, and serve the weak and helpless. Hurcules was the great hero of mythology times where he saves the world on many ocasions even when it finaly kills him. Modern heros are part of our every day lives, with police and fire fighters working to save people and superman and other superhero cartoons who save the world on a daily baseis, no matter what the cost. Thet do the right thing just to help out, and look for no gain for themselves.
